Joe Sheeran
Communication Specialist
Working in news markets from Sioux Falls, SD to Philadelphia, PA, Joe Sheeran has covered everything from township board elections and vandalism sprees to national political conventions and serial killers. He knows how to tell your story and get news outlets to cover it--or if necessary, keep it out of the headlines.
Joe has a passion for creative writing and weaving an effective narrative, skills he honed during more than a decade in journalism. His strong work ethic and dedication to his profession helped set Joe apart and gained him tremendous respect from fellow reporters.
Utilizing the tools he acquired in news, Joe transitioned to political communications and public affairs. As a communications director, he’s taught activists and first-time political candidates how to craft a strong message and effectively communicate that position in well-coordinated media campaigns. He’s also developed media and messaging strategies on issue advocacy campaigns in the areas of construction and transportation, health care, green energy and education.
Joe has strategically and successfully executed media campaigns utilizing both main stream, emerging and social media resources. He's excited about the ability to maximize an organization’s exposure through new and growing forms of communications, such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
Currently, Joe is actively working on several Leer projects, including services for Local 49, K2 Logistics, and Target Center event promotions.
Joe grew up in Philadelphia and recently moved to the Twin Cities with his wife, a Worthington native. He’s currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Teaching at Hamline University. |
